      "Transactions of the Devonshire Association of 1963" lists both Thomas and
      Matthew Allen and families as emigrants to Camnridge Mass. on April 10, 1632,
      aboard the ship "Charles".

      Thomas eventually moved to Barnstable Mass.

      Thomas made was a freeman in 1652.

      Surveyor of highways.

      Thomas was a yeoman.

      Sold 8 July 1641 hs house and lands in Barnstable, Devon, England.
      Records: Req. L504 Freeman Plymouth Colony, 3 June 1952.

      Sold land at Watertown in 1655.

      Will dated 28 Feb 1675 and proved 5 March 1670-80

      Matthew the fifth son Of Richard moved to Connecticut and founded a branch of
      the family there.

      Matthew, son of Richard A. of Braun-ton, Devon., Cambridge, rpopr. 1633; frm. March 4, 1634-5. Deputy, comr. of the United Colonies. Rem. to Conn. With wife Margaret conveyed lands to [his brother,] Thomas Allyn of Baarnstaple, Eng. 17 (10) 1638. [L.] Thomas came later to Barnstable, N.E.

      hugh, Yarmouth, atba. 1634 He m. 8 Oct 1639, Sa. In Court 1650. He returned to England to Orchyard, a parish near Taunton, and abandoned his family here. [Testimony of Thomas Allyn and Thomas Richards in 1654.]"[Plym. De II.]

      Savage shows him dying Nov. 1680, at gr. age.
