Research and notes - Deborah Sweet:
A certified copy of the Marriage registration for Dad & Rose, which she
obtained inAugust of 1988 (this having had something to do with Grandma
Sweet's estateand Dad having to prove that they were legally divorced?)
gives his birthyearas 1926 - this is incorrect:
1. Death Certificate shows dob 1925. see below.
2. Birth Certificate shows dob 1925. see below (additionally, what
little Military records I have also show 1925)

MILITARY SERVICE, WWII
Dad was inducted into the Army on Sept. 22,1943 at Plattsburgh, NY.,and
given the Service Number 32-943-870. He was first placed in Co.I, 3rd
Battalion of the 6th Armoured Infantry. His group were to be replacements
forthe exhausted North Africa troops. They were sent to Casablanca,
North Africa immediately, and placed on a train to Oran, in Algeria.
