Notes |
- Ancestral File (TM), data as of 2 January 1996.
In an autobiography by Tirzah Permelia Howard Fiske, she writes:
" Chester, Fremont County, Idaho 7 September 1899. I crossed the plains in 1850, was fifteen years old, was baptized in the fall of the same year after reaching the Salt Lake Valley in Utah, by Elder Charles Dalton. I am the mother of thirteen children. Have gone through many trying hardships while raising them.
I have been a worker in the Relief Society for thirty years, first as a teacher, then President over the teachers, then as counselor to the President.
We came to Idaho 22 May, 1888. Have been President of the Relief Society here for nine years. I am also a teacher in Sunday School.
I have ten children living, five boys and five girls. They all, with their wives and husbands, belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I have seventy grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and I am grateful to my Heavenly Father that things are as well with me as they are. I am sixty-four years old and desire to live and have the privilege of going to the temple and doing work required at my hands.

Tirzah P. Fiske
P.S.
I was married three years after coming to Utah. Went through the endowment house in the year 1858. Had three children at the time.
(Tirzah Permelia died May 17, 1900, eight months after writing the above sketch)."
