Southworth; Cooperstown - Funeral services for Earl M. Southworth, 87, of 110 Chestnut Street, Cooperstown, will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 13, at the Ingalls Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael C. Shyna, pastor of the Milford United Methodist Church, offficiating. Burial will be in the Hartwick Cemetery. Mr. Southworth died Monday, August 10, at the home of his nephew, John Silvernail, Wells Bridge. He was born August 3, 1883 in Hartwick, son of Orin and Lydia (Converse) Southworth. He married Julia E. Jacobs on July 1, 1913 in the Hartwick Methodist Church. Mrs. Southworth died May 11, 1969. Mr. Southworth had been a farmer in the area for manyyears, working on several of the large farms. He retired about 25 years ago.He had lived in Wells Bridge for about 17 years, returning to Cooperstown about six years ago. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Ruth) Staffin, Cooperstown; a son, Raymond E. Southworth, Cooperstown; one granddaughter, Mrs. John (Beth) Tuller, Chula Vista, Calif.; a brother, Arthur Southworth, Binghamton, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Wednesday. The family will be in attendance from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday."
