1) Martin SWBible - 2 Obits for Nelson, one before the funeral and one
after, identical except for small paragraph inserted in pre-funeral
notice re: Family receivingfriends Sunday, Nov. 17 from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m.:
"Nelson "Net" W. McLean, 78, died at his residence in Edmeston on
Nov. 13 after a lengthy illness. He was born April 13, 1913 in Hartwick,
the son of Willard and Ella (Southworth) McLean. He was employed by the
Otsego County Highway Department, the town of Burlington Highway
Department and also served as superintendant to the Edmeston Highway
Department. He loved the outdoors, especially gardening, hunting and
fishing. He is survived by his companion of 33 years, Muriel Weidman, her
children; Betty Lindholm, James Wiedman, Beverly Figger, Barbara Izard,
JohnWeidman, Bernie Christian and Bonnie Sullivan. Also surviving are
his one son, Norman McLean, and four daughters, Marion Curry, Joan Day,
Virginia Clark,Shirley Edgett; four brothers, Kenneth, Clyde, Arnold and
Leonard McLean; ten sisters, Ermal Hughes, Beulah Osborn, Edna Ruland,
Beatrice Crockford, Alberta Eastman, Gladys Scrivener, Columbine O'Blak,
Marjorie Snyder, Albeama Gabroshik and Wanda Stewart. Also surviving are
several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by two
brothers, Lyle and Norman McLean. Funeral services will be held (were
held) Monday, Nov. 18, at noon at the Houk-Johnston Funeral Home with the
Rev. Mark Terwilliger officiating. The family will be receiving friends
on Sunday, Nov. 17 from 2-4 and from 7-9 p.m. In lieuof flowers,
contributions may be made to the Edmeston Emergency Squad. Funeral
arrangements were by the Houk-Johnson Funeral Home, Edmeston."
