  • Notes
    • Rev. Ebenezer was minister

He had been in the army in the French and Indian War of 1755. The news of the battle of Lexington, 1775, was received on Sunday morning. He preached in the forenoon from the text, "There is a time for peace and there is a time for war." At the close of the service he laid aside his gown and displayed his old uniform with the remark that the time for war had come. Most of his young men joined him and they marched to Boston. He became a Colonel and served until his death.
