Notes |
- Libbie V. Seelye daughter of Charles Wesley and Sarah Frances
Seelye was born,May. 22, 1869 in Marion Co. IL. She moved with
the family to a homestead in Dakota Territory in 1883 from IL.
On June 26, 1891 she married, Fredic MortonGraham, born Oct 4,
1865 at the farm home of his grandfather, Mentor Graham, near
Petersburg IL., at Blunt in the First Presbyterian church of that
two year old state. To this union was,Sandy O. Graham born.
The local paper, the Blunt Advocate, carried a tale explaining
that the hazy off along the horizon was raised by buffalo herds
moving but the Grahams neverseen any buffalo!
Fred, the schoolmaster had received his education in Greenview
IL. So in 1893 the family moved back to Greenview. To this union
were Henry S Graham and LibbleV Graham were born.
Mrs. Graham passed away March 25, 1896 and was laid torest in
the Sugar grove cemetery near Greenview IL. and Fred died Aug.
23, 1941. The Graham residency,or old Seelye house, where they
resided in Blunt partly burnt in 1943 as a result of kids
starting a fire in the middle of the floor. When the Rural
Electric Association (REA) purchased the property the rest was
leveled by cat and dozer to the extent that a new REA building
could be placed there.
This information from Roger Xanders, Grandson of Anna Mary
(Seelye) Tarbell
P.S. The continuation of Fred Graham can be found in Item 1 of
the 9th gen.of Grahams. I don't have this. Daniel P Seelye
Note 10 March 1996from Virginia May (Sunkel) Macek
Libble Graham: She is the child I believethat my mother and her
sister referred to as : Little Libbie" and my mother corresponded
with her. She married a man whose last name was Root - if I am
correct, Libbie and family lived in Oregon.
This, Henry S Graham, is who my mother knew as Sandy - lived in
"Hot Springs", SD.
I even began corresponding with him, One year (maybe 6 years ago
his Xmas card was returned "Expired" no one ever wrote to me
concerning his death.' I'm aware of some relatives (maybesome of
his children lived in the Denver area.)
Not sure, will wait for more data name may be Elizas and married 24 May 1891
