      Lucinda Ladelia Goodwin was born April 4,1843 at North Hartford,
      Connecticut. Being only three years of age when she made the voyage on the
      Brooklyn with her parents, brothers and sisters, she didnot remember the
      tragedy which surrounded this family in the death of the mother. Her brothers
      and sisters were put out to live in various homes after theirarrival in San
      Bernardino from Yerba Buena, the first stopping place of the Brooklyn Saints.
      Lucinda lived for a time with the Marshall family.
