Notes |
- BIRTH:
Born at home (3705 West 14th St). St. Barbara's school records show her birthdate as Nov 9, 1915 and her baptism date as Nov 15, 1915 which is contrary to the October birth month Julia recognised as her correct month. The card specifies that the date was obtained as a parent's statement, which is understandable since Julia was born at home and the family had probably never applied for a birth certificate.
OCCUPATION:
Employed by The May Co. Department Store and then Higbee's Department Store as a gift wrapper and packer.
RESIDENCES:
Born and raised at 3705 West 14th St. Moved to 3701 West 14th St. (next door above the grocery store run by her father) when she married. Moved to 3618 West 47th when the city took her neighborhood for the Jennings Freeway. After suffering a stroke on Groundhog's Day (Feb 1993), she was sent to a nursing home for recovery and then moved in with her son and daughter-in-law at their home in Elyria, Ohio.
MARRIAGE:
KAPUSTA, JULIA and ROZHON, CHARLES F vol.0191 pg.0089
(Cuyahoga County Marriage License Index)
MEDICAL:
Generally very healthy despite being overweight. Suffered a stroke on Feb 2, 1993. Later developed diabetes, colon cancer and then multiple myeloma.
BURIAL:
Holy Cross Cemetery (Sec 17, Lot 1013). Cause of death was multiple myeloma. [Cremated and interred over the coffin of her husband, Charles.]
OBIT:
JULIA M. ROZHON, 84, MAY CO. GIFT WRAPPER
