  Oliver and Lucy need more research on the birth dates. He was named for Gov.Oliver Wolcott of CT. When he was sixteen years of age he removed with his parents from Stafford, CT., to Moscow, NY. It was his earnest wish to become a minister, but he had not the needed means to pursue the course of study necessary.For several years he taught school, and ws also a painter by trade. He was a fluent writer, and often contributed articles to newspapers, writing, a few daysbefore he died, an article on Tariff Reform for a Buffalo paper. For fifty years he lived in Erie County, NY., the last twenty-seven being spent in the Cityof Buffalo.
