      OBITUARY

      MRS. ELLEN SHAFT (THRALL)VAN GUILDER

      Ellen Shaft Van Guilder was born at Owasso, Michigan, June 11,1856 and departed this life at Detroit Michigan, February 5, 1930.

      In 1871 she was married to George Thrall, and the first eight years of their married life were spent in Erie county Ohio. In 1879 they moved to Eaton county Michigan,and lived in Potterville, where Mr. Thrall was engaged in business. Thirty years ago they moved to Charlotte, where after nine years, Mr. Thrall was called home. To this union, six children were born, five girls and one son, Mrs. LillianEggleston of Charlotte; Mrs. Dora Pearson of Detroit; Mrs. Lora Canfield of Lansing; Mrs. Jennie Thompson of Charlotte; Mrs. Mary Eakin, who died several years ago, and who at the time of her death lived in Dewey, Oklahoma; and the oneson George Thrall of Charlotte.

      Twenty-one years ago in January, Mr. Thrallwas called to his reward. In 1912 she was united in marriage to T. S. Van Guilder, of Metamora, Michigan, where she lived until the death last May of Mr. VanGuilder, since which time she has made her home with her children. She leaves to mourn their loss, her children mentioned, 19 grandchildren, 13 great-grand children, three step-children, Eric and Seymour Van Guilder, of Metamora, and Mrs. Minnie Peas, of Lansing, together with a large circle of other relatives andmany friends, who will always cherish her memory.

      The funeral services wereheld at the Myron E. Pray funeral home in Charlotte, Friday afternoon at two o'clock, February 7, 1930. Rev. R. J. Field of the Baptist church officiated. Interment in Potterville cemetery.
