      LCW Since John did go to California seeking gold, it is likely he died there and is buried there.
      ? Mentions Polly Munson, now Mrs. John Poe of Calfornia.
      (Munsons were often linked with Poes.) John & Isaac probably came to WI together.

      1863 22 Feb E. Babcock'sletter to Marion Webb asks "How are John's folks? Have they heard from him? Evidently John went looking for gold in 1862.
      1863 21 Jun Carrie Poe's letter to Polly Poe, wife of Isaac Poe, said "John wrote to Mary Ann and family in Brooklyn saying he had found a great deal of treasure buried in the earth."
      1863 03 Jul Carrie Poe's letter to Polly mentions John having had "a lot of treasure in the earth."
      1863 29 Sep Mary Ann's letter to Polly mentions that she, Mary Ann, would like Sarah to come live with her.

      LCW This Poe family no longer found in WI censuses. It is probably no longer in WI and is in CA.
      40 1873 10 Aug A. W. Poe's letter to Polly Poe said "John's girls, Martha and Lucy,
      were visiting the Adam W. Poe home in Brooklyn, OH. Martha will work in Cleveland and Lucy will live with Delia.
      1864 04 Feb Mary Ann's letter to Polly wishes that she urge Maria to write to Mary Ann.
