    • Henry Sater,the planter,was born of English Parents In western shire of England.In 1709,during the time of Queen Anne,at the age of 19,he left Engand and landed in 1710 at Little York,or Smith Port,Va.First landing in Va.he subsequently,settled in MD.and established his plantation Chestnut Ridge about 2 miles northof Brooklands on the Falls Road(MDRoute 25)(Near Lutherville,MD)It was here heMarried Dorcus Towson.In 1742 he deeded the land to build the first Baptist Church with the bricks brought over from England as ships ballast.The Sater's Baptist Church was deeded to the Baptist Denomination."to the end of the world" Heis buried in the churchyard
