Services for John Henry Hobaugh, 102, a pioneer Sand Springs resident, were at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Bill Weaver officiating. Mr. Hobaugh died Tuesday in a Tulsa Hospital. He was born May 31, 1882, in Lamar, MO, and moved to Sand Springs in 1912 from Tulsa. A veteran railroad worker, Mr. Hobaugh also was a Hinderliter Tool Co. employee for 31 years. When he first moved to Sand Springs, he helped his father build the city's first hotel. He was a memberof First Assembly of God Church. Survivors include his daughter, Chloe Henry ofSand Springs; two sons, Clyde Hobaugh of Sand Springs and Claude Hobaugh of Sulphur, LA; four grandchildren and five g-grandchildren. Burial was in WoodlandCemetery with arrangements by Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service.

Mildred Beatrice "Bea" McDaniel, 72,of Joplin, died at 12:59 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2001, at Freeman Hospital. She was born October 23, 1928 in Roubidoux, MO, to John and Eula Williams Hobaugh. She was an employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for over 35 years, retiring in 1982. She married Lester "Mac" McDaniel on April 16, 1949 inBentonville, Ark. He died December 9, 1991. She is survived by a son, James L McDaniel of Oklahoma; a daughter, Janet Dalton of Joplin; four grandchildren, Christopher McDaniel of Columbus, Kan., Angela McDaniel and Valerie McDaniel, both of Joplin, and April Dalton of Carterville; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Larry Six will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00p.m. Friday at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary. Contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.

VernonHobaugh, 32, died suddenly late Monday evening while at work. He had come heresix months ago from Deslodge, MO, and was employed by the Phelps Dodge Corporation. He lived at 907 Tombstone Canyon. He is survived by his wife, Lucinda, andtwo daughters, Sharon and Nancy, of Bisbee. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. G WCrowley of Lovell, and three brothers. They are Chesley of St. Louis, MO., Stanley of Deslodge and Bobby of Bonne Terre, MO. Funeral will be on Friday at 1:30p.m. from the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ray Anderson officiating. She bore her sufferings very patiently, and just before she passed away, waved her little hand and said 'bye-bye' to those of her loved ones near by. Ostel Durward Hobaugh of Farmington passed away on July 24, 1991 at MineralArea Regional Medical Center at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 19 days. He was born on Oct. 5 1906 in Desloge, the son of the late Eli and Jessie [Forshee]Hobaugh. He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta Alice [Lawson] Hobaugh. Surviving is one brother, Bernell Hobaugh of Warrenton, MO; three sisters; Bernice Hunter of Terre Du Lac, Alvatine Hamors of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Eileen Conners of Riverside, Calif. Also surviving is a very special friend, Helen Schaper of Farmington. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Farmington, Elks Lodge, and the Masonic Lodge in Michigan. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 27, 1991 at Sparks Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.

Burnell Burdette Hobaugh Sr., a machinist and tool and die maker for Rohr Corp., died Thursday in Alamo. He was 83. Chloe Marie Henry of Sand Springs died Saturday, Jan. 15, in Tulsa. She was 89. She was born Sept. 27, 1904 at Berryville, AR, the daughter ofJohn Henry Hobaugh and Ola May Standley. She was a member of the First Assemblyof God Church of Sand Springs, and a member of the Pioneers Club of Southwestern Bell. She married Ike O Henry on August 30, 1961 at Berryville, AR. She is survived by a brother, Claude Monroe Hobaugh of Sulphur, LA; three nephews, IkeHobaugh of Sand Springs, Dennis Hobaugh of Dallas, and John Hobaugh of Frankfurt, Kentucky; a niece, Ola Watzalavik of Sulphur, LA; two great nephews and four greatnieces.
