Irene C. Leslie, 81, of Rockford died Thursday in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Leslie was born in Chicago and later moved to Berwyn. She worked for Western Electric. She later moved to Marengo, where she worked at GTE in Genoa before retiring in 1980. She moved to Rockford five years ago. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Rockford and a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marengo. Mrs. Leslie is survived by three sons, John, Paul and Scott; a daughter, Jeanne Nisius; three grandchildren; and one stepgrandchild. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday in Fred C. Olson Funeral Home, 1001 2nd Ave., Rockford. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. 2nd St., Rockford.
