    "CHESEBRO. -- Albert Chesebro, June 21, 1888, in Jersey City, NJ

    At a meeting of the Consistory of the Greenville Reformed Church ofJersey City, NJ., July 3, 1888, the following resolutions were unanimously
    adopted in memory of the late Albert Chesebro.

    Whereas, Although God in His wise Providence has removed from ournumber Elder Albert Chesebro, therefore be it

    Resolved, That we hereby record our high appreciation of his loveand faithful service in the Church of God. As a man he was a shining
    light in the community; as an elder he is worthy of double honor.

    Resolved, That while bowing in submission to a kind heavenly Father,we shall cherish the memory of his quiet, consistent, Christian life,

    "George Chesebro, Secretary and Comptroller of the National TransitCompany, was born in the city of New York, July 20th, 1850.
    He is the son of Albert Chesebro, who was a resident of New YorkCity for many years, although born in Stonington, Conn. in 1808.
    The elder Mr. Chesebro died in Jersey City in 1888. He was a linealdescendant of William Chesebro, who was born in England
    in 1594 and came to America in the ship Arabella, which sailed fromCowes, Isle of Wight, on March 30th, 1630. He took a prominent
    part in founding the Massachusetts Bay Colony and later spending afew years in Rehoboth, Mass., made his permanent home in
    Stonington, Conn.

    The subject of this sketch was educated in the public schools of NewYork, and was graduated from the College of the City of New York.
    Soon afterward he entered the law office of Silas B. Bronwell, inWall Street, but after spending some time endeavoring to fit himself
    for the Bar he discovered that his tastes lay in the direction ofcommerce. He then abandoned his studies and entered the employ
    of S. B. Chittenden & Co., at one time a prominent mercantile firmin New York. Later he connected himself with the firm of
    A. T. Stewart & Company, spending a number of years as accountant inthe woolen mills of that concern. When the firm discontinued the
    operation of their mill properties in June, 1883, George Chesebroaccepted a position with the National Transit Company, at 44 Broadway,
    New York City. At that time Mr. John Bushnell was Secretary andComptroller or the Company. Mr. Chesebro, after short service, wasappointed
    Assistant Secretary and Assistant Comptroller and upon theresignation of Bushnell, in 1907, he was appointed to fill the vacancies
    caused by Mr. Bushnell's resignation from office in the variouscorporations with which the latter was then identified.

    In 1875, Miss Frances Augusta Amerman became the wife of GeorgeChesebro. Their home is now at Belle Harbour, N. Y. There are three
    children, Mrs. Caspar A. Miller, residing in Foxburg, Pa; HowardIrving, residing in Belle Harbor, N. Y.; George Chesebro, Jr., residing
    in Brooklyn, N. Y.

    Mr. Chesebro is a member of the Graduates Club in the City of NewYork, Society of the Order of the Founders and Patriots of America,

    3. Bert graduated from Grove City College military school. He was firstemployed by Peoples Natural Gas Co. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but was mostly employed by Carter Oil (Standard of NJ). He was one of thefounders of the Petroleum Accountants Society of Oklahoma. Bert was also employed by the US Engineers (Corps of Engineers) at the OklahomaOrdinance Works, Pyror, Oklahoma during WWII.

    4. Bert's will (handwritten by Ed as Bert was legally blind at the time) was written in 1950 and as Lina Jane's beneficiary left Lina Jane's 2/5Brown Sugarcreek Township, Pennsylvania homestead inheritance to Larrywith Ed as administrator.

    5. Bert's cemetery burial lot deed, dated January 6, 1948, is forMemorial Park, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
