Owner:

Stanley Cielinski (spouse of Mary Liss)

Location:

1518 Denison Ave.
Stanley opened the hardware store about 1920. The store front was fairly small, probably measuring only about 20' across. There was a small step or two to enter through the front door. Inside, on the right, was a wood counter behind which the wall was nearly covered with index card sized drawers that contained a wide variety of nails, screws, and other small hardware. The other side of the store had a few shelving units and displays. I cannot remember what was at the rear of the store.

In the mid to late 1950's the hardware store closed. The building later became the site of a Baptist Church.
Stanley and Mary moved to Medina, Ohio where Stanley died in 1982. Mary died in Hinckley, Ohio.
Stanley's parents, Michael and Frances, lived on the southside (Professor Ave.) His brother, Carl, lived at 1619 Denison Ave. After Carl died, his sisters, Stefania and Sophie lived in the house.
