Post-1906 name:

Kenneth Avenue. Formerly known as William Street.


Location:

Between West 17th Place and West 21st Street, south of Denison Avenue


Development:

J.A. Sprankle, of Sprankle Realty, purchased this parcel in 1904 from David Morison. Morison owned a considerable amount of property around the city, this parcel amongst them. Morison purchased this parcel from Edwin H. Foster, son of Ebenezer Foster (one of the early settlers of original Lot 74).


Named for:

The original name of William Street may have been named after the developer, William Ambler of "Ambler, Curtiss, and Pixley".
