In 1852, Jerome Bibbins married Mary Matilda Fish, daughter of Ebenezer Fish. The latter sold a tract of land between Archwood Ave. and Mapledale Ave. to his son-in-law.

To all people to whom these _________ shall come. Greetings. that we Ebenezer Fish and Mary H. Fish his wife of Brooklyn township Cuyahoga Count and State of Ohio for the consideration of Ten hundred and fifty dollars received to our full satisfation of Jerome Bibbins, do give grant bargain sell and confirm unto him the said Jerome Bibbins the following described tract or lot of land situate in the township of Brooklyn being number Seven in the thirteenth range of townsips in the Connecticut Western Reserve in the State of Ohio and which is also the County of Cuyahoga and is known by being a part of original lot #65 and is bounded as follows:

  • commencing at the N.E. corner of a piece of land this day deed to H.G. Clark by Ansel A. Betts running
  • thence E. along the original line of lot 65 to a line at the corner of Deming Brainard's land
  • thence S 11 3/4 W two chains 47 links to a stone
  • thence E five chains and 14 links to the center of the Turnpike Road
  • thence S 4 3/4 W three chains 23 links in the center of the road
  • thence west 54 rods or to the NE corner of sublot No.29 in Betts & Bibbins subdivision of a part of Original lot No. 65
  • thence S twelve rods to the center of Greenwood Street
  • thence W five rods to the SE corner of land owned by H.G. Clark
  • thence N along his line to the place of beginning

and contains Seven acres and 60 rods of land ...........
