Map showing location of Uri Richards' home and gas station.

Owner/Operator:

Uri Richards

Location:

Western end of the Harvard-Denison Bridge on the north side of Denison Ave.

Details:

Uri Richards, originally from Mt. Vernon, Ohio, lived at 1313 Denison Ave. The little gas station was behind his house facing Denison Ave. In 1914, Uri bought the property from his father-in-law, Charles Fischer. He died in 1933 and that may have been when the station closed unless his wife, Anna, decided to continue to operate it for awhile with hired help. It was definitely closed by the 1950's.
The building was probably no larger than 10' by 10' and had two pumps in front of it.
