One of three sons of Ebenezer Foster and Almira (Williams) Foster. After the death of their father and the subsequent inheritance of Ebenezer's land along the eastern end of Denison Avenue, each of the three dropped farming and began to dabble in real estate.
Edwin in concert with Charles Gates, was developer of Howard St.
